Alkyl?Linked Porphyrin Porous Polymers for Gas Capture and Precious Metal Adsorption

نویسندگان

چکیده

In gas adsorption and metal recovery, inexpensive covalently bonded porous polymers offer industrial feasibility, despite the challenge of having reactive functionalities while maintaining porosity. Herein, three highly covalent organic (COPs), COP-210, COP-211, COP-212, with porphyrin that are readily synthesized by a Friedel–Crafts reaction using chlorinated solvents as linkers reported. The exhibit competitive capacities for CO2, H2, CH4. Their sites proved particularly effective in precious where COPs high selectivity toward gold, platinum, palladium, silver. Analysis reveals reductive capture is prevalent gold Platinum also captured through combination reduction chelation. 0.901–1.250 g g?1 fast kinetics at low pH. COP-212 selectively recovers 95.6% from actual electronic waste (e-waste) collected junkyards. results show scalable great potential capture, separation, recovery.

Porphyrin based porous organic polymers: novel synthetic strategy and exceptionally high CO2 adsorption capacity.

Iron containing porous organic polymers (Fe-POPs) have been synthesized by a facile one-pot bottom-up approach to porphyrin chemistry by an extended aromatic substitution reaction between pyrrole and aromatic dialdehydes in the presence of small amount of Fe(III). The Fe-POPs possess very high BET surface area, large micropores and showed excellent CO(2) capture (~19 wt%) at 273 K/1 bar.

Water-resistant porous coordination polymers for gas separation

Porous coordination polymer (PCP) chemistry has a promising future because of the tunable structures and excellent properties of polymers. However, the strategy for designing and preparing water-resistant PCPs is a considerable challenge. This review surveys and investigates the factors governing water resistance in a hierarchy sequence. Subsequently, representative studies are provided with an...

Polymers near metal surfaces: selective adsorption and global conformations.

We study the properties of a polycarbonate melt near a nickel surface as a model system for the interaction of polymers with metal surfaces by employing a multiscale modeling approach. For bulk properties, a suitably coarse-grained bead-spring model is simulated by molecular dynamics methods with model parameters directly derived from quantum chemical calculations. The surface interactions are ...

Water adsorption in porous metal-organic frameworks and related materials.

Water adsorption in porous materials is important for many applications such as dehumidification, thermal batteries, and delivery of drinking water in remote areas. In this study, we have identified three criteria for achieving high performing porous materials for water adsorption. These criteria deal with condensation pressure of water in the pores, uptake capacity, and recyclability and water...
